Every generation has searched for answers about the future, but today many people sense that the world is shifting in unusual and prophetic ways. From wars and natural disasters to growing discussions about UAPs and extraterrestrial life, people are asking deeper questions about truth, eternity, and what the Bible says about the last days. While technology advances and mysterious events capture headlines, Scripture reminds believers not to live in fear, but in spiritual awareness and peace.

Jesus warned that the last days would be marked by confusion, deception, and fear among nations. In Luke 21:25–26, He said, “And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” These words feel increasingly relevant as humanity searches for explanations beyond itself.

The fascination with UAPs and extraterrestrial theories reveals something important: people are hungry for meaning and desperate for hope. Yet believers are reminded that our focus must remain on Christ and His truth. The enemy often uses distraction, fear, and speculation to pull hearts away from God’s Word. That is why Selah matters now more than ever.

The word “Selah,” as I have mentioned many times, means to pause, reflect, and consider. In a loud and chaotic world, believers must intentionally stop and listen for God’s voice. Luke 11: 28 it clearly states, “But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.”

Selah is not passive silence; it is spiritual recalibration. It reminds us that God remains sovereign no matter what mysteries or uncertainties arise in the world.

Second Timothy 3:1 warns, “In the last days perilous times shall come.” Yet Scripture never tells believers to panic. Instead, we are called to pray, discern, and remain steadfast in faith. As conversations about unexplained phenomena increase, Christians must stay grounded in biblical truth rather than fear-driven speculation.

Jesus warned that these times would be very deceitful. In saying such we must walk in discernment being “wise as serpents and gentle as doves.” The fallacies, the fake news, the blindness of minds as mentioned in 2 Corinthians 4:4, and the last days for which we are living are truly a time of testing for the Church and for those who lack faith in God. How do we keep ourselves from being caught up in the chaos of this world? The Bible says, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Like any good soldier who must stay focused and tuned in to what is going on around him, we must do the same and with a heavenly perspective and that is keep ours eyes on Jesus.

The signs of the times should not lead us to hopelessness. On the contrary, beloved! They should awaken us to prayer, repentance, and deeper intimacy with God. This is the hour to pause, seek Him, and remember that Christ is still the answer in uncertain days. When we do that, we won’t only know that moments of Selah are vital to our peace, but we will experience the fullness of Christ in the midst of Selah.
